Wilfred D. Bourque, 72, of 47 Blutcher Street, died September 8, 2001 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Roxbury, MA. He was born in Manchester on September 20, 1928, the son of Adrien and Cecile (Labrie) Bourque and had been a resident of the city for most of his life. He served in the Armed Services for seven years, both in the Army and the Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. He also was awarded several medals and citations. He was a mail handler for the United States Postal Service for 14 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Jutras Post #43, the VFW Post 8214 and the Rimmon Club. He was also a member of the mail handlers union. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Family members include his wife of 42 years, Irene (Groulx) Bourque; two sons, Michael Bourque and William Bourque, both of Manchester; three daughters, Diane Cote, Darlene Bourque and Kim Laquerre, all of Manchester; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Maurice Bourque of Manchester and Gerard Bourque of Enfield, CT; two sisters, Rachel Groulx of Manchester and Laurette Cullen of Pompano Beach, FL; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10:00 in Ste. Marie Church. After cremation, urn burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
