Wilfred E. Dion

Wilfred E. Dion, 78, of 27 College Road, died November 18, 2002, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home. He was born in Chicopee, Massachusetts on March 26, 1924, the son of the late Hormidas and Mederise (Charbonneau) Dion and had been a resident of Manchester for most of his life. He was the widower of Therese (Boisvert) Dion who died in 1998. Wilfred worked for the Goffstown Fire Department for 20 years and was a crossing guard for the Goffstown Police Department. He retired from St. Anselm's Colldge in 1986 after 11 years of service. He loved to fish to do word puzzles. Mr. Dion was a parishioner of the Parish of Transfiguration. Family members inclcude a son, Andre Dion of Goffstown, four daughters, Carol Chaput, Susan French, both of Goffstown, Denise Roberge of Weare and Pauline Stanek of Penacook, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Alice Desrochers of Chicopee Falls, Ma. and Rita Gionet of Epsom, his companion Priscilla Riggs of Goffstown, several nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue, Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in the Parish of Transfiguation. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
