Wilfred A. Gagne, 83, of Manchester, NH, died May 29, 2006, at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, in Manchester. Mr. Gagne was born on December 21, 1922, in Manchester, the son of the late Alice (Ducasse) and Wilfred A. Gagne. He was a life long resident of Manchester. Mr. Gagne was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard where he assisted in the construction of submarines. In 1986, he retired from St. Anselms College, where he was employed for 27 years as a power engineer. Mr. Gagne enjoyed fishing, boating, riding his ski-doo, and most important of all square dancing. Members of his family include, his wife, Aurise (Joyal) Gagne, of Manchester, 3 sons, Ronald W. Gagne, of Hyde Park, NY; Richard A. Gagne, of Charleston, SC; Robert J. Gagne, of Manchester, NH; 1 daughter, Janet M. Rufty, of Concord, NC; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Doris Gionet , of Titusville, Florida, Beatrice Bergeron, of Haynes Park, Florida, many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 6 from 2 4 P.M. and 7 9 P.M., at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 10 A.M. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Elm Street, in Manchester. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Manchester.
