Willard W. Johnson, Jr., 81, of Loudon, passed away on Saturday, July 02, 2016, at Concord Hospice,
after a long and courageous battle with many medical ailments.
Born in Littleton, he was the son of the late Willard W. Johnson Sr. and Jermain (Delage) Johnson. Raised and educated in Franconia, NH.
Will was a proud U.S. Marine veteran. He served during the initial stages of the Korean War.
A dedicated father and husband, he was passionate about gardening and all aspects of landscaping, attributed to his upbringing on a dairy farm. He loved to fish and in his earlier days to hunt. He never met any challenge he couldn't fix with his hands and vast knowledge of how things work. He will be best remembered for generous heart and love of family.
Willard is survived by his beloved wife, Martha (Gottsche) Johnson, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage; his son, Jason R. Johnson of Canterbury; four daughters, Vicky Kidder of Loudon, Linda Diaz of FL, Bernice Cahill and husband Harry of Litchfield, and Cynthia Riel and husband Jay of Palmer, MA; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his infant son, Willard W. Johnson, III.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be held in the New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene, 33 Staniels Rd., Loudon, on Tuesday, July 5, beginning at 1PM to be followed by the Funeral Service. Committal in the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, at 3:00P.M. Friends and relatives invited. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
