William E. Berg

William E. "Bill" Berg Sr., 84, of Manchester, NH., died Monday, February 1st at home, with his loving wife Barbara and family by his side.

Bill was born in Kalamazoo, MI. November 27, 1936 son of the late John H. Berg and Erma (Whittemore) Berg. He grew up and attended school in Michigan before joining the Army in 1955 - 1958. Bill was first stationed at Ft. Devens in Ayer, MA. where he met and married the love of his life, Barbara Ann (Waite). They were married for more than 64 years, growing their family and their love.

Bill was a sportsman. He played and excelled at all sports as a youngster and ultimately sharing his sports legacy with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He spent many days cheering his family as they participated in their athletics. He was a father and grandfather who provided encouragement, guidance and love.

For many years, Bill owned and operated his own businesses and later provided sales and business support in the environmental services industry. Upon retiring he focused on his gardens and his family.

Bill loved nothing more than enjoying his family, "making memories" with gatherings on birthdays, the holidays, and vacations. He lived his life surrounded by family and friends. He will be remembered as a kind, generous and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.

Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children, William Berg Jr. and his wife Agnes; Cindy Berg, Barry Berg, Larry Berg and his wife Victoria, Patti McDonald and her husband Tony; one sister, Elizabeth (Liz) Hizer of Kalamazoo, MI. and 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Barbara (Robbins) Berg; his brothers, Floyd, and John; and 4 sisters, Wilma, Mary, Jane and Mabel.
