Mr. William F. Cote, 81, of Manchester died Sunday December 13, 2009 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was born on January 13, 1928 in Manchester, NH the son of the late William A. Cote and Nelsie (Lemay) Cote. He was raised and educated in Manchester. He was a lifelong reside of Manchester. During World War II he served in the US Army. Mr. Cote was a member of the American Legion, Henry J. Sweeney Post in Manchester. He worked for Granite State Machine in Manchester and later at GE in Hooksett. Following his retirement, he continued to work at the Pro Shop at Derryfiled Country Club in Manchester. Mr. Cote enjoyed golfing and walking three miles everyday. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his two sons, Daniel Cote of Augusta, GA and Denis Cote of Derry, NH; 1 grandson, 2 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Donald Cote of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Arnold Cote of Manchester and Gerald Cote of Rhode Island; 3 sisters, Priscilla Watson of Lancaster, NY, Phyllis Fortier of Manchester and Rita Brunelle of Bedford and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Beatrice (Derome) Cote who died in 2008 and his step mother, Eva (Jacques) Cote. Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00AM at St. Pius X Church, Candia Road, Manchester. Committal prayers will follow in the Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
