William E. Driscoll

February 2, 1955 — September 4, 2024

Manchester, NH

William Edward Driscoll, age 69, of Manchester, New Hampshire, passed away on September 4th, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Bill was born on February 2nd, 1955, in Stoneham, Massachusetts, the son of John and Dorothy Driscoll. He was the husband of Cally Driscoll. They were married in Manchester, New Hampshire, where they lived together for 13 years.

Bill grew up in Stoneham with his five siblings and attended the public schools there. After graduating high school, he went on to study at North Essex Community College. Bill graduated in 1977, and began working at Leeman Labs selling analytical instrumentation. It was an opportunity that led to international travel, which brought him to China in 1989. He was there for the Tiananmen Square protests and massacre and had to escape the escalating tension. He made it back to the US and shortly thereafter began his career in software sales at Rational Software.

His successful career in software sales and sales management was due to Bill’s ability to relate to people. He was able to build loyal relationships with clients and coworkers because they wanted to work with Bill. He had an extraordinary ability to tell stories, jokes, and find a great place to have a meal.

Bill retired in 2018 and spent six wonderful years in Manchester with Cally and their group of amazing friends. He golfed until ski season and skied until golf season, and always made sure to squeeze in some fishing trips on Cape Cod. He was a member of Pembroke Pines Country Club and the New Hampshire Ski Club. He was able to travel nationally and internationally, whether it be for an exciting ski trip, to visit family and friends, or just to discover somewhere new. He did everything with a smile on his face, a big heart, and of course the best sense of humor.

Bill loved all aspects of life, but nothing more than his family. He is predeceased by his sister, Patricia Walsh, and two brothers, John Driscoll and Robert Driscoll.

Bill and his former spouse, Nancy Driscoll, had two children together who they adored; daughter Danielle Driscoll and son Kevin Driscoll. He is also survived by his spouse, Cally Driscoll, twin brother Dennis Driscoll, brother George Driscoll, step-children Rachel Nicolai and David Grean, granddaughter Ellie Nicolai, and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
