William F. Smith

July 14, 1943 — October 28, 2024

William F. Smith passed away on October 28, 2024 at the age of 81. Born on July 14, 1943, in Manchester, NH, Bill lived a life marked by his passion for automobiles, military service, and love for his family.

An esteemed mechanic, Bill devoted his career to the automotive industry. He spent many years at Gateway Motors in Nashua, where his expertise in fixing cars, particularly Volkswagens, earned him the respect and admiration of both colleagues and customers.

Bill proudly served in the US Army, a commitment he held close to his heart. His military service instilled in him a sense of pride and discipline that guided many aspects of his life.

Aside from his professional achievements, Bill was a man of simple pleasures. He enjoyed the small comforts in life and often found joy in the company of family. He had a deep appreciation for country music and cherished the moments spent watching classic country western shows and movies. A good Budweiser in hand, Bill would readily engage in lively conversations about cars and mechanics, a subject he loved dearly.

Bill's family was the central focus of his life. He is survived by his daughters: Dawn Berube and Darlene Smith-Medeiros, along with her husband Gregg. He also leaves behind two sisters Brenda Gendron and Janice Belair, two grandsons, and two great grandsons, all of whom he loved immensely.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife Dolores (Mullen) Smith, as well as his sister Carol Pauquet.

A  private graveside service to honor Bill's life will be held on November 6, 2024, at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Manchester, NH.
