William J. Johnson

William J. Johnson, 89, of Auburn NH passed away August 12, 2021, surrounded by his family.

He was born November 22, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Harold and Loretta (O’ Mara) Johnson.

William grew up between Detroit and Port Sanilac Michigan. After graduating from Gilmour Academy in Cleveland Ohio in 1950, William proudly served in the Korean War. Upon his return he attended the University of Detroit and graduated with the Class of 1957, followed by a long career in beverage sales.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brothers Gerald and Douglas Johnson and sister Joan Harrison.

William will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Harriet (Henley) Johnson, his children and their spouses, Greg Johnson and Anne Marie Cooke of South Portland, Maine, Karen and Justin Gorham of Goffstown NH and Kathleen and Matthew Provost of Bedford NH; Grandchildren Jack and Kathleen Gorham, Matthew, John and Mary Elizabeth Provost; brother Hugh Johnson of Johnson City, Tennessee.

The family would like to extend its gratitude to the staff and volunteers of Hospice Visiting Nurses Association of Southern New Hampshire for their compassionate care.

Private services will be held.
