William Angus McDonald

William Angus McDonald, Jr., 90, of Hooksett, New Hampshire passed away February 24, 2021 after a sudden illness.

Bill was born at home in Manchester, New Hampshire to the late William A. McDonald Sr. and Henrietta Mundell. He attended Central High School before joining the Navy in 1949. He was the owner/operator of D & M Plumbing and Heating Contractors for almost 30 years, a long-time member of NHPHCC, served on multiple boards and commissions in Hooksett and was serving as a board member of the Central Hooksett Water Precinct at the time of his death. He was an expert tradesman who took great pride in his work. He was also a former member of the Suncook Valley Chorale. As a founding member of the Hooksett Kiwanis Club, Bill believed in giving back to the community he loved. He was an avid reader and in retirement, taught himself to be a skilled stained-glass artisan. But most of all, he loved traveling and spending time with his wife Joan, his family, and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joan (Rinker) McDonald; brother, Jack McDonald and wife Patricia of Tennessee; son, Scott McDonald and wife Cheryl; daughters, Pamela McDonald, Linda McDonald and partner Bruce, Sandra McDonald and partner Daniel; son-in-law, Jack LaPointe; step-daughter, Karen Heselton and husband Rich; step-sons, Kirk Rinker and wife Michelle and Kyle Rinker and wife Stephanie. Bill had eight grandchildren: Adrienne McDonald, Andrew McDonald, Allison Chaffee, Amy Perry-Rowe, Lisa Perry, Christopher Perry, Derek Young and Michael Young; eight step-grandchildren: Malory, Kimberly, Kristyn, Alexis and Kandace Rinker, Nicholas and Benjamin Heselton and Blake Rinker. He also leaves behind nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Lasselle) McDonald in 1993, his daughter Deborah LaPointe in 2015; his step-mother Emmel McDonald in 1995; his sisters, Christina Pederson, Ruth Kazakis, Susan McDonald; and his step-grandson, Andrew.

Bill had some very dear friends, the late William and Betty Trombly and Don Morin and his late wife Lorraine Morin and Polly and Reggie.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory may be made to animal causes.
