William F. Mellor

January 21, 1950 — July 27, 2025

Manchester, NH

William F. Mellor, our beloved dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, husband and friend passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at the Bedford Hills Center, in Bedford, NH at the age of 75. He was the heart of our big family-the one who made us laugh. He told the best stories, probably one he'd told you before, but it would still make you laugh like it was the first time. He often reminded us not to take life too seriously.

Born on January 21, 1950, in Somerville, MA, Bill was one of 10 siblings-part of a large, close-knit family where love, humor and resilience were part of daily life. He carried those values with him, staying close with his brothers and sisters: Jackie, Paul, Joe, Ellen, Claire, Shirley, Joanne, Roberta and Jimmy. The bonds he shared with them were lifelong, rooted in loyalty, shared memories and a mutual respect for one another. Growing up in a full house taught him early on the value of family.

Bill was a man of quick wit and a heart full of warmth. He had a natural gift for making people laugh. Never missing a chance to tell a story, especially one that left people smiling. His humor, kindness, and strength defined him. His sense of humor, often unexpected, genuine, and sometimes inappropriate, brought light to the lives of his family and friends.

Bill found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid golfer who cherished his time on the course, whether he was chasing a low score or just enjoying the company. He enjoyed the laughs, stories and friendships that came with every round. He had a passion for coaching youth baseball and softball through Goffstown Little League and Parks and Rec. He spent many seasons sharing his knowledge, patience and encouragement with countless young players, including his own children.

Bill believed that family always came first. He was the proud father of five children whom he raised with unconditional love, strength and laughter. He was the kind of dad and grandpa that always showed up-ball games, school plays, grandparent luncheons, and choir performances. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family. Whether it was a big gathering or a quiet moment, family was everything to him. His home was always open, his advice humorous and wise. His love for his children, wife and grandchildren was boundless.

Bill was blessed with many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored. Each one held a special place in his heart. It was often said jokingly that, "there are so many grandkids, I've lost count!" All of his loved ones have a story about "Papa Bill"-whether it was a joke he told, a tale he had spun, or a moment shared that made them feel special.

He will be deeply missed by his children: Lisa Mellor, Jennifer Mellor, Amy Mellor (predeceased), Megan Mellor and Matthew Mellor, and his many grandchildren: Alex Mellor, Aayliah and Camlin Williams, Alyssa Brooks, Jolie Mellor, Nichole Wolak, Jessica Richard, Jewel Mellor, Sofia Belanger (predeceased), Trislyn Chapman (predeceased), Abigail Richard, Ella and Irelyn Belanger, Kora and Kylie Beard, Sean Parker, Zachary, Abel and Bryce, and great-grandchildren: Kennedy, Madeline, Jameson, Eloise, Wesson, Veda, Max, Lincoln, Brody, Bradley, Alivia and Alaina. He also leaves behind his wife of 18 years, Mary Lou Parker. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that we will carry with us always.
