William V. Mercon

William "Billy" V. Mercon, Jr., 48, of Newport, NH, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 26, 2018, following a brief illness.

Born in Worcester, MA, he is the son of William V. Mercon, Sr. and Mildred "Midge" T. (Baillargeon) Mercon. Most recently, Billy was employed as a technician for DirecTV.

A beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, Billy's family was paramount in his life. He cherished time spent with his daughter and infant grandson who he loving called "Ant Man". Billy enjoyed fast cars and tinkering with technology, especially TVs. An avid sports fan, Billy never missed a Red Sox or Patriots game. Billy will be best remembered for his kind heart, practical jokes, and sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, Billy is survived by his daughter, Annalisa Marie Mercon of Newport; grandson, Anthony William Mercon; three sisters, Carol Mercon, Brenda Hoefle, and Melissa Adkins and husband Christopher; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Billy was predeceased by his nephew, Mark Richardson.

ARRANGEMENTS: His Memorial Gathering will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., on Tuesday, March 6 from 4:00P.M. to 5:00P.M. followed by a Memorial Service at 5:00P.M.
