On September 3, 2025, Bill was able to meet his Savior face to face after pilgriming on this earth for 92 years and succumbing to a short illness in Troy, Ohio.
Born in Laconia, NH, on April 28, 1933, to William Ferdinand and Hazel (Weeks) Roberts, Bill graduated from Laconia High School and immediately entered the Air Force and re-enlisted for a second term of service. While in the Air Force, he returned home to marry his high school sweetheart, Arlene (Harris) Roberts, in 1955. Together, they brought up a family of three children who all had the blessing of being able to say goodbye to their dad in his final days.
Bill is survived by two sisters, Jane Percy of Laconia, NH, and Lulu Sears of Meredith, NH. His children are Marilyn Roberts of Capon Bridge, WV, Janice Roberts of Pittsfield, NH, and Steven Roberts and wife Gayle of Piqua, OH. He is survived by grandchildren, Heidi Beaman and husband Nathaniel of Troy, OH, and Rebecca Pond and husband Tyler of Troy, OH. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Jackson and Katherine Beaman, and Olivia and Amelia Pond, and numerous nephews and nieces. Bill is predeceased by his parents, his wife Arlene in 2001, sister Ellen Rollins, nephews Richard Rollins and Robert Sears, and his second wife, Sherrie Hammond, who was married to Bill from 2005 until her death in 2022.
Bill’s list of working careers is long, numerous, and diverse. He loved working with his hands and was adept at many trades. He also loved to serve the Lord and did so in various capacities throughout his life.
Although many will miss Bill’s friendship and outgoing manner, anyone who knew him would not wish him back from the Eternity he has now entered. He had total confidence in the promises of his Savior, Jesus Christ (II Corinthians 5:6-8), and would have freely shared God’s message of salvation.
