William L. ''Capt'' Rogier, 85, of Manchester, died August 30, 2000, at Kenoza Manor Nursing Home, Haverhill, Ma., after a long illness. He was born in Manchester on April 25, 1915, the son of Leon G. And Isabelle (Collyns) Rogier and had been a resident of Manchester for most of his life. He was a graduate of Manchester West School and was very atheletic. Capt. was a W.W. II Army Veteran. He retired as Captain of the Manchester Fire Department in 1966 after 32 years of service. He took great pride in rendering service to the City of Manchester as a firefighter. He loved gardening. Family members include his wife of 59 years, Amelia ''Amy'' (Swiszcz) Rogier of Manchester, a son William F. Rogier of Bedford, a daughter Mrs. George (Diane) Lovejoy of Hooksett, four grandchildren, a brother Charles Roger of Manchester, several nieces and nephews and cousins in Belgium. There will be no visiting hours. The family request flowers be omitted and donations made in his memory to the New Horizon Soup Kitchen, 199 Manchester Street, Manchester, NH 03101. The Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematoriu, 243 Hanover Street is in charge of arrangements.
