Winifred A. (Walsh) Meehan, 84, of Manchester, NH, died Friday, March 28, 2008 at Mount Carmel Nursing Home, in Manchester, NH. Mrs. Meehan was predeceased by her husband, Timothy F. Meehan, who died in1985.
She was born in Lawrence, MA, on September 4, 1923, the daughter of the late Edward F. and Isabella (Muldoon) Walsh. She was a resident of Lowell, Massachusetts and Seabrook Beach, and moved permanently to New Hampshire in 1973.
Mrs. Meehan was an avid reader and an active volunteer in the Goffstown, NH literacy program. She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Parish, in Goffstown.
Family members include five sons: Timothy F. Meehan, of Montpelier, VT; Dennis M. Meehan, of Nashua, NH; Terrence J. Meehan, of Mariaville, ME; Patrick J. Meehan, of Kittery, ME; John J. Meehan, of Rye, NH; two daughters: Phyllis M. Sachar, of Reading, MA; Mary M. McMahon, of Bedford, NH; thirteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one sister, Maureen Walsh, Ed.D. of Cambridge, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 11 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Church, 3 Fayette Street, in Lowell, MA. Committal prayers and burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, in Lowell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mount Carmel Nursing Home, 215 Myrtle Street, Manchester, NH 03104, in memory of Winifred Meehan.
