Yvette (Vachon) Beland, 77 of Manchester, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Hanover Hill Healthcare Center, in Manchester after a period of declining health. She was born on June 19, 1941, in Manchester, NH, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Lussier) Vachon.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Beland was employed by Marriott where she worked in food service. She also spent several years working in the lunch program for the Merrimack School District.
She was a devout Catholic and spent her entire life caring for others. She retired early to babysit her granddaughters and nothing gave her more pleasure than watching them perform in many theater and dance activities. She loved hosting birthday parties, ice skating and traveling with her husband.
Her humor and energy was infectious and the love she had for her family was immense. She enjoyed spending summers at Hampton Beach with her large, extended family for nearly 30 years.
Members of her family include; her husband of 59 years, Gerard Beland, of Manchester, NH; one son, Gerard Beland, of Milford, NH; one daughter, Pamela Zottos and her husband, Matthew, of Somersworth, NH; 5 grandchildren; Brittany Beland, Olivia Zottos, Katherine Zottos, Ashley Lund, Benjamin Rodon, 4 great grandchildren, 5 sisters, Delores Lynch, of Concord, NH; Pauline Vachon, of Milford, NH; Lorraine Daly and her husband, Robert, of Manchester; Diane Soucy and her husband, Paul, also of Manchester; Denise McMahon and her husband, Raymond, of Goffstown, NH; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Beland was predeceased by her son, Marc Beland, and by her two brothers, Philippe and Normand Vachon.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 18 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 19, 10 AM at St. Peter Church, 567 Manchester Road, in Auburn. Committal prayers and interment will take place at Last Rest Cemetery, in Merrimack, NH.
