Yvonne A. Gosselin, 97, of Manchester died November 27, 2005 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home following a period of declining health. Mrs. Gosselin was born on May 27, 1908 in Manchester the daughter of Alfred and Pamela (Lefebvre) Beland. She grew up in Manchester, attended Ste. Maries School and had continued to be an active parishioner of the church throughout her life. She and her husband, Robert, owned and operated the well known Social Lunch on the west side of Manchester for many years. After the couple sold the restaurant, Mrs. Gosselin worked as a sales associate for Grants Department store in Bedford. She enjoyed sewing with her friends and playing the card game 31 with her family. Mrs. Gosselin was a member of the Tiers Ordre and Ste. Anne Sodality of Ste. Marie Parish. She enjoyed the activities at Mt. Carmel and was an avid Bingo player. Her granddaughter will especially remember her wonderful singing voice. She had a flare for cooking and enjoyed baking for her family. Yvonne had been a devoted wife to her husband, Robert I. Gosselin who passed away in 1979. She was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished the time she spent while helping raise her only grandchild. Family members include; her daughter, Therese Chartrain and her husband, Paul of Merrimack; a granddaughter, Pamela Rotz and her husband, William of Manchester; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gosselin was predeceased by her six siblings, Germaine Hebert, Laurence Beland, Leo Beland, Lucien Beland, Robert Beland and Roland Beland. Mrs. Gosselin also leaves behind a close friend from Mt. Carmel, Blanche Johnson. Calling hours will be Tuesday afternoon, November 29th from 2:00 until 4:00 PM and 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10 oclock at Ste. Marie Church with internment to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
