Yvonne E. Roy, 92, of Manchester died April 1, 2006 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Roy was born on August 17, 1913 in Manchester the daughter of Hector and Leona (Raymond) Lavoie. She married George P. Roy who predeceased her in 1964. Upon the death of her loving husband, Yvonne joined the work force and began working part-time at Notre Dame Hospital. She spent six years at the hospital while also devoting her time to raising her children. She enjoyed politics and was always caught up on current news. She was an avid reader of historical novels and also indulged in books by Danielle Steele and Readers Digest. Yvonne was a devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed dearly by her family. Family members include; two sons, Andy Roy of Las Vegas and Robert Roy of Goffstown; three daughters, Rachel Delisle of New Boston and Claire Davis and Doris Dezainde both of Manchester; 17 grandchildren; many grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday afternoon form 1:00 until 3:00 with a service to follow at 3:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street. Burial will be private in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
